Melting ~ Greenland Ice Sheet
Greenland ice sheet about 85 per cent of the island's land surface covers and 2.3 km (1.6 miles) at an average altitude rises. Ice sheet too much weight approximately 300 meters (1000 feet) below sea level, is pushed into the center of the island. Greenland's icy expanse, like the rest of the Arctic, it is important for the future of the global climate, represents an important indicator not only the climatological. All of Greenland's ice were to melt, global sea level 7 meters (23 feet) will rise. Greenland's ice sheet is slowly melting due to warming temperatures, and the melting speed and the several feet of sea level rise this century that will help is a major concern.
